The Science of Energetic Vibrational AttunementThe Science of Energetic Vibrational Attunement, or SEVA, will be the topic of the May quarterly Chapter meeting. Our presenter will be Geri Edwards, who has practiced and taught the technique since 2001. She uses the phrase “Dowsing for Health” as a subtitle to the program. Geri's practice is based in Hickory. SEVA was originated by Colombian physician Dr. Lau Camilo Sanchez. SEVA does not diagnose in the traditional sense; rather it brings into greater awareness your physical, emotional, and mental/spiritual states. The method emphasizes that all these levels need to be involved for successful healing.
Besides SEVA, Geri has studied extensively in a number of fields including herbal therapy, homeopathic medicine, Neuroscenar
biofeedback, colon hydrotherapy and therapeutic massage. She was instrumental in organizing the first homeopathic study group in Catawba County, and was a volunteer teacher for over 10 years. The Catawba County Homeopathic Society is one of the largest groups of its kind inthe southeast.
Geri Edwards also started the first Montessori school in Catawba County in 1979, teaching and serving on the board of directors. For over twenty years she worked in interior design and was an ASID-qualified designer. Geri says, "Self-improvement begins with knowledge, awareness, and the willingness to grow."

This presentation will explore how dowsing - in its various modalities - can be used to:
• accurately identify illnesses and imbalances, determine their
true causes, and suggest the most effective possible remedies
• maintain optimum health and energy
Some of the tools available to us are:
• Dowsing devices (the pendulum, L rods, bobbers, dowsing charts, etc.)
• Deviceless dowsing (using the body as in kinesiology)
• Animals as communicators of information
• Surrogate “patients”
• Clairvoyant means, such as those of the “medical intuitive”
Causes of imbalance and illness include these categories:
• Chemical (toxins in food, air, water)
• Biological
• Electromagnetic and geopathogenic
• Psychological, emotional & behavioral
• Spiritual / psychic
• Cosmic The categories overlap considerably.
Many
of these influences are environmental; some are natural and others are
artificial (man-made). Starting with the understanding that everything,
including thoughts, feelings, actions, physical organisms, indeed all
matter and phenomena in the Universe (and, we assume, in the “other
world”) is energy and has an identifiable “signature frequency”, we can
learn to identify these influences with careful and detailed dowsing
methods. Our presenters will focus on specific ways of discerning and
dealing with these different causes of problems.

What does the perspective of dowsing have to offer to developers and planners? Can we suggest ways of dealing with the real estate explosion in a more rational, visionary and peaceful way, that is harmonious not only with the coming housing needs, but with our cultural traditions and the land itself?
Some of the topics likely to be considered are:
• Water availability and conservation
• Importance of maintaining the delicate ecological balance of the region
• Preservation of sacred sites, important natural areas and wildlife
• Respect for the spirit (and spirits) of the land
• How dowsers can raise their level of influence
All persons involved in real estate development and land use planning are invited to share this time with us.
Lee Barnes will present a basic introduction to dowsing and will discuss practical aspects of dowsing land parcels. Lee is a member of our chapter and a longtime water dowser, a horticulturalist and real estate agent. He has experience with all aspects of land dowsing and beneficial land use, and is knowledgeable regarding the scientific study of aquifers and geologic land formations.
Bill Westel is an associate broker with Eco-Steward Reality in Asheville, which is active in environmentally sustainable, minimal-impact land use in WNC. Bill is active in the WNC Green Builders Council and the online group Digital Dowsing, and has his own blog. He has some five years experience in land/energy dowsing. Bill has a special interest in healing land that has been abused in any way.
Richard Crutchfield, president of Appalachian Dowsers, has been
doing research and field work in dowsing for some 18 years, especially
in water resources, personality and behavioral problems, harmful and
benevolent earth energies, sacred sites and working with the elementals
on the spiritual level. His approach to healing has been greatly
influenced by a study of Huna, and his work regarding land use by the
indigenous world view. Aside from dowsing well and house sites over the
years, his focus has been on energy clearing and ceremonial work.
The final hour will consist of a panel discussion with the presenters and the audience.
Join us for an informative and entertaining look at this timely
topic! And as always the meeting will be followed by our 1-hour basic
dowsing class outside, for those interested in hands-on instruction.

Our animal companions have something to say, and they fervently wish
that they could say it so we could hear it. Kate says that when we do
hear it, it pleases them greatly. Even wild animals and birds are
conscious and have feelings. Opening up the interspecies chat room
benefits both them and us.
Kate has been a dowser for over 30 years. She has worked for several
years as a dowser/intuitive/animal communicator both on-site and
remotely. In her workshops she teaches people how to effectively
communicate with their animal friends through dowsing, to find out
about their well-being and what they want to say to us. She will also
talk about using animals to discover information in dowsing situations
that are not animal-related at first.
Come to this educational and enjoyable presentation and hear Kate
relate some of her remarkable adventures with animals. Please leave
your animal friends at home for this meeting. If you would like to
bring a photo of an animal buddy, you may find another attendee who
would like to practice the new techniques with you during our lunch
break.

Local residents Romella Hart-O’Keefe and Ed O’Keefe
will present EFT and Dowsing: Energy Sisters at the May 19 quarterly
chapter meeting.
The O’Keefes have taught over 200 people a
form of energy work called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT is a
simple but powerful method for releasing fears, angers, cravings,
addictions, depression and other negative feelings and behaviors.
In
freeing ourselves from harmful emotions and beliefs, we often clear
physical symptoms at the same time. “Unresolved emotional
issues are
the main cause of 85% of all health problems” (Eric Robins,
MD) EFT
works by clearing disruptions to the flow of life energy in the body.
Often this kind of disruption was caused by an emotional trauma and has
been held in the body for a long time.
EFT is like acupuncture
without needles: you stimulate well established energy meridian
endpoints on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips, to
clear the energy pathways.
The “Basic Recipe” is a simple
technique that is easy to learn and takes about 5 minutes to do, after
you have learned the locations of the tapping points. Our speakers,
both interdenominational ministers, have been using a combination of
dowsing and EFT in their energy work with people and animals.
The
O'Keefes live in Mills River and love the mountains of western North
Carolina. For further information about EFT, visit Gary
Craig’s website
at www.emofree.com.

November's Dowsing School Speakers- Lee Barnes, Mo Wheeler, Adhi Two Owls, Beecham Parker
“November Dowsing School”
We have a
great lineup for the November meeting – not to be
missed! Four different speakers will do brief presentations on an
intriguing and relevant topic related to dowsing.
Lee
Barnes
will present his popular introduction to dowsing. A
short but solid look at the essence of the most common dowsing
methods and how they work.
Mary
“Mo” Wheeler teaches that
each of us is associated with
one (or more) of 12 types of energy which is represented in our
etheric body. You'll dowse what type you have and learn what it
means in your life. What is your "energy heritage"? How many
dimensions do you have access to and what does that mean? How
can you best receive information from Higher Power? What is the
easiest way to make changes in your life? As we search for
answers to these questions, we'll get to know ourselves better and
how we can best make a contribution to the world.
Adhi
Two Owls creates tools from wood and other
materials that
facilitate the use of vibrational energy for healing and personal
transformation. She will present illustrations to show how the
ancient Egyptians used staffs and other forms for such purposes.
Beecham
Parker is an animal communicator and spirit
medium.
He will share with us how we can develop our subtle senses and
awarenesses to communicate with pets, and with loved ones in
spirit form. Beecham is a uniquely gifted facilitator and this
promises to be a fascinating
and enlightening experience.

September's Speaker- Dr. Matt Scudiere
“In With the New Mind, Out With the Old: Clearing Out Old Programs”
Matt Scudiere
Dr. Matt Scudiere is a long term friend of the Appalachian Dowsers, having served as Chapter Vice-President in the 1980’s. Dr. Scudiere is a research scientist, Theoretical Physicist, and Nuclear Engineer, who also spent 35 years as a student of Metaphysics. He is a well-known speaker and has presented many workshops on how the mind works, how we create our reality, and how we can change that reality! The morning talk will review a "new" biology -- We are not the victims of our genetics! Matt will share the latest understandings in cell biology and how Darwin got it wrong -- evolution is not random. He will discuss how cells are controlled by their environment, not their genetics. Our Human mind [and its learned belief system] is the primary environment for our cells. This background will form a basis and understanding for how we can change and heal our own bodies. Matt shares "With most of our core beliefs formed before the age of six, many of these controlling beliefs are unknown to us and totally unconscious. Yet they run our whole life! The afternoon talk will present simple methods for uncovering these beliefs and yet still more methods for clearing out these old programs, beliefs, and patterns influence our lives, our health, and our genetics."
