Dowsing has been used for centuries to communicate with loved ones that have passed on. Egyptians were among the first recorded to have used a form of pendulum to seek answers and to communicate with loved ones who have passed. Dowsing is not used as much any more with recent television programs on the subject now promoting such high tech devices such as EMF meters and night vision cameras.

I have been a "ghost hunter" for over 10 years and I have always used my pendulum to assist me in detecting a rise in energy levels, which indicates a paranormal activity. We also use more modern devices to confirm what the pendulum has shown but I can tell you that my pendulum has resulted in some of my very interesting pictures and EVP (electronic voice phenomenon). I use my pendulum every day and I will not be caught without it when investigating the paranormal.

I have to agree with Rena, that dowsing is a much better way to detect what's happening on the other side. I still can't see how Tri-field meters can detect entities. Temperature meters, maybe. Too bad 'bells and whistles' reign supreme in this day and age. Thank goodness those tiny little antennas embedded in our skin and senses are still working.

One of the most interesting dowsing practice that I use my 'finger dowsing' for is dowsing the dying. It is very interesting to get head counts regularly on the number of loved ones who are in the 'Welcoming Committee' for folks near death. The counts will increase and it is interesting as to who is there and when.

If you are doing spirit writing from the other side, it is good to be able to detect who you might be talking to....though some are 'no-name'.

Having surgery last week, I dowsed the number of guides, guardian angels and loved ones that I had around me as I went 'under'. Eighteen was the number, double what I dowsed that my surgeon had, which prompted a rally call in his and my behalf! Now...to dowse why I got the broken arm....
