POLICY AND PROCEDURE

 MANUAL

 FOR

 THE APPALACHIAN CHAPTER

OF

THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF DOWSERS

11/14/92

reason, intuition and psyche

ATTENTION PLEASE

All ASD Convention Speakers and Seminar/Workshop Leaders

  1. Under state and federal law, The American Society of Dowsers, Inc. (the ASD) is prohibited from PRACTICING the HEALING of humankind.

  1. Although such be the case, the federal constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech, press, and assembly give the ASD complete freedom to canvass the world of IDEAS relative to said Healing, to discuss said IDEAS, write about them, disseminate them, analyze them, criticize them, develop them, and help them evolve BY WAY OF THE SPOKEN AND WRITTEN WORD, and by PICTURES, DIAGRAMS, CHARTS, THEOREMS, and THEORIES.

  1. In the event that you happen to deal in any way with the subject of Healing in your ASD lectures, seminars, workshops, etc., the ASD wishes you to feel free to do so within the frame of reference set forth in paragraph 2 supra.

HOWEVER:

  1. Except in an emergency situation, OR unless you are duly licensed to practice said Healing in the United States of America, OR are a qualified religious, the ASD respectfully requests that you avoid DOING anything, by any method or within any discipline, during or in your ASD lectures, seminars, or workshops that might be construed as deliberately attempting to heal, or to initiate the healing of, a specific person or specific persons, present or absent, cases current or past.

  1. During or in your ASD lectures, seminars, and/or workshops, you will please not attempt to have any of those persons in attendance practice said Healing by any means whatsoever, or engage in demonstrations or trials thereof, except in an emergency situation, unless duly licensed to practice said Healing in the United States of America or are qualified religious.

  1. Briefly, to the point:  — While you are under the aegis of the ASD, please address the subject of said Healing in only a PASSIVE manner — not an operative one — because all ways of active participation in the ACTUAL PRACTICE — the performance — of said Healing are denied to the ASD.  PRACTICE includes DIAGNOSIS.

The American Society of Dowsers, Inc. wholeheartedly thanks you for your gracious understanding and cooperation in this matter.
